It’s Been A Busy Not Work-Related Day

Today I took on the role of caretaker. Both Brendan and I woke up a little sore except one of us had a pinched nerve…. It wasn’t me.

So, I offered to drive him around to get whatever he needed to sort himself out. We went to the chemist for a heat pack and I went and drove him to his appointment. All was good.

While Brendan was at his appointment I did a little shopping. It was so nice being able to actually try on jeans at a clothes store. I spent probably 30 minutes going through 5 pairs of jeans and trying on a about 4 different pairs. But I finally got it. I can’t buy jeans online. Pants are weird. You can be a size but that size is different in every damn company. With this brand… they have my size but depending on the style it all fits different. So, damn frustrating. It’s all sorted though. I got a a black and blue pair. Good news is I can still fit into the same size, even if I’m more on the higher size of that size. It’s okay. I still made sure I stuffed myself into them.

We got home and he put his heat pack in the microwave as the instructions said and suddenly a heard a *POP*. It burst.

So, off we went back down the street to get him another one.

Off and on all day I was the heat pack lady. I even started alternating between the heat pack and a hot water bottle I located in the closet. That was my job.

I did manage to get some work done although I was a little distracted.

I decided to start a Sourdough Starter today. That’s pretty damn exciting. I was watching Atypical and one of the characters had a starter and I’m like “Isn’t that Sourdough?”. I so had a look for a recipe and here I am now. I’m a lady with a jar of yeast on her counter who will be looking forward to some fresh Sourdough in 6 days.

Keep watching this space

I’m also wanting to get into different types of bread making. Like Amish Friendship Bread. The starter I made can make that as well so I’m keen to see what sort of breads I can make from this jar of yeast!

My dad also decided to come around today. That was surprising. I haven’t seen or heard from him in about 6 months. But he was picking up his other kid’s dog and was dog sitting. She lives around me somewhere, so he wanted to come past. “I know you like animals, so I thought I’d come past”.

This dog is huge. Comet reminded me of how small I really am and how small my house is. This dog came up to my counter without even trying. I had to put my boys outside cause Vader is a little Pitbull and would have lost his mind. He saw him through the window and that was enough. He went ballistic.

Turns out my dad coming over was actually a blessing in disguise. I went outside to say bye to him and was he was looking at the car.

“Is this your car?”.
“Yeah. I drive it”.
 “Oh! You got one?”
“Yeah, it’s our car but I’m starting to drive it more now”.
“Well, you should probably turn your lights off”.

The back lights were on. When did I do that? I was driving in the day.

“Doesn’t that drain the battery?” I asked. I knew it did. And at this point the lights would have been on 9 hours. I got in the car and tried to turn it on. The car wasn’t having it.

Of all the days for him to come over it couldn’t have come at a better time. I wouldn’t normally answer my phone either so…. Fancy that.

He ended up having some jumper leads in his car and we got it going again.

That was my day in a nutshell.

It was much more entertaining than usual.

I’ll finish with a couple vids of Comet running around the street like he owns it. Also, I went and opened the car door and Comet got confused and thought he was going someone. It was definitely the wrong car. We have a micro. That dog was way too big for the car. There’s the video of that too 🙂
