Food Log 14/11/2021 – The Big Piece of Steak

The day was productive, and the eating started off slow. We were out the house by 11am with the intention of doing some Xmas shopping but instead got to the mall and decided we didn’t have a clue on what to get anyone. Instead of going into any of the stores our whole outing consisted of going to the food court and getting lunch and then going home.

I didn’t do my usual coffee or smoothie in the morning. The first thing that hit my mouth was at 11:30am . I’m calling it lunch but it wasn’t really. It was more of a snack.

Dinner was the big bust though. I ate a lot. I had a big piece of steak and probably too much mashed potatoes. I’m pretty sure I made the already bad mash even worse by mashing it with sour cream, but I thought… “I really want creamy potatoes”. So, I don’t feel bad.

I had plenty of veg.

And I reset tomorrow.

Breakfast:

  • Nothing

Lunch:

  • Fried Octopus

Snack:

  • Sautéed green beans in olive oil, ginger, garlic, mint and Habanero.

Dinner:

  • Rump Steak cooked rare
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Sautéed Asparagus (first time cooking them)
  • Mushrooms
  • Broccoli
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Dinner Rolls
  • Gravy

I didn’t finish it all but I did get through the steak cause it’s been awhile. Also, a lot of it was cooked to try and make some room in my fridge and freezer.

I obviously went over in my tracking on MyFitnessPal so I didn’t even bother trying to work out the calories in the potatoes. It would have been a waste of time.

I went over the 1200 calories today and it’s fine.

Now your speaking my language. It looks great. I love steak, but I don’t eat it very often.

I don’t eat it often either but I think it’s something I need to put in my mouth minimum once a week. I take iron pills so this would help in that area.
      I hate taking pills…

Shepherd’s pie is one you the best sources of iron you can absorb in to you system. red meat and potatoes are a winning combo for iron absorption.
